My grandfather is deceased. My mother holds power of attorney over his estate. She would like to transfer ownership of his car to me. She lives in NH, I live in MA. I understand I will need to provide insurance and register it with the RMV.
How do we go about transferring ownership of the car?

Have your mom sell it to you for 1 dollar. Have her sign the title as the seller and you sign the title as the buyer. With a copy of death certificate and the page of the power of attorney paper that proves the your mother has the right to sell / Sign the title.
Then take it to the registry to get you plates, new title and pay the sales tax.
